Team Coaching

Stepping Together

After attending one of the Institute for Strategic Leadership’s leadership programmes graduates often want to be able to disseminate some of the learnings they have acquired amongst members of their team to create greater team cohesion and to increase the effectiveness of the way they work together as a team.  As a result many of our graduates later approach us asking us to provide a ‘mini programme’ whereby their team comes together to undertake team building and to learn about some of the fundamental ways that individuals in a team differ and how to capitalise on people differences to everyone’s advantage.

The Institute for Strategic Leadership has created a Team Building programme – Stepping Together, in order to meet this need of our clients.  Stepping Together’s purpose is to support participants to gain a greater self and inter-personal awareness and become the best team members they can be.

Team building programmes are generally undertaken residentially or offsite as this provides a more suitable space and atmosphere for reflection and learning – being outside the box helps people think outside the box! Highly trained and experienced leadership coaches support each individual and his/her syndicate to develop high performance teamwork skills.  While there is a component of ‘classroom based learning’, participants primarily learn by doing, through advanced problem-based and action-based learning processes developed by the Institute. Reflective learning is a key component of the Institute's pedagogy. Learning tools include the use of an outdoor team building activity, along with some personality typing tools such as the Firo B and the Myers-Briggs Types Indicator.
